Lifestyle Medicine - The Potential to Reverse Poor Health and Low Vitality

According to the World Health Organization, by 2020, two-thirds of all diseases worldwide will be the result of lifestyle choices.

The leading causes of death and healthcare costs are lifestyle related chronic diseases from poor lifestyle habits such as: poor diet, lack of exercise, obesity, stress, smoking and overuse of alcohol. Most chronic diseases are preventable, but to treat the cause of these diseases and to be successful in prevention, a strong focus must be placed on the concept of Lifestyle Medicine.

Lifestyle Medicine encompasses research, prevention, diagnosis and treatment of declining health issues caused by a lifetime of poor lifestyle choices. The ultimate goal and primary focus of Lifestyle Medicine is to provide evidence-based, safer, more effective and less expensive services to correct the harmful consequences of unhealthy lifestyles.
